Mr. Charles Hart

Mr. Charles Hart teaches Classics and Latin in the Middle and High Schools.

Mr. Hart has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He earned a JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC, where he also received a Certificate in Comparative and International Law. He enjoys playing the piano and organ, and occasionally making it on the water to row.

“There has been a move in education away from reading original works to reading commentaries about those works. By studying the Latin language, students will progress toward being able to read works by the great writers of history – Julius Caesar, Virgil, Augustine of Hippo, and Thomas Aquinas, among many others. From there they will be able to consider the original words of these great thinkers, and not
merely the translations of someone else.”
