Learning

The curriculum of Trinity Academy is inspiring at every level. The Lower School excels in the teaching of reading skills, and the mastery of fundamental arithmetic. Catechism, phonics, grammar, writing, and mathematical computation are emphasized in the earliest grades. Students are immersed daily in outstanding literature, beginning with Aesop’s Fables and Mother Goose, and moving to the wonderful stories of Winnie the Pooh, the Laura Ingalls Wilder series, and the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

Middle School students are exposed to a wealth of reading in classic literature, through authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Louisa May Alcott, and William Shakespeare, and enjoy grappling with more complex mathematical and scientific concepts. They also begin the study of Latin and French, and participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities.

Our High School students are challenged to analyze complex literary works, through the study of authors such as George Eliot, Charles Dickens, and Dostoevsky. They progress to the A.P. level in Mathematics, Science, and Foreign Language, and excel in their knowledge of the Faith.  Click here to see our High School Program of Studies: TAHS Program of Studies.

In our Middle School and High School the foundations of Western Civilization and American heritage are stressed. A deepening appreciation for the spiritual and moral teachings of the Church also evolves throughout the higher grades, including precise teaching of the Moral Theology of the Church as presented in the Catechism, and the Social Justice principles of the Church from the encyclicals of the popes. Students are also exposed to a wealth of reading in classic literature.

We provide students with an excellent base of knowledge and study skills on which they can build a lifetime of learning. Our methods of education are traditional. Parents are respected as the primary educators of their children, and their involvement in the school is welcome.
