Did you know? Our parenting helps our children’s brains wire and rewire, integrate brain functions, and therefore improve their emotional, intellectual, and social skills.
Experiences shape our children’s brains through neurons firing together and making connections to other neurons. “This wire-and-rewire process is what integration is all about: giving our children experiences to create connections between different parts of the brain. When these parts collaborate, they create and reinforce the integrative fibers that link different parts of the brain” (The Whole- Brain Child, p.8). We can influence this integration in our day-to-day parenting. Check out the book for more explanation!
